Students will experience hands-on exercises that are inspired from the Wild West and Texas History. Campers will receive creative writing instruction from children's author, Melissa Williams, combined with exciting activities from the museum's history experts! Campers will even have a chance to enter their story for publication in the I Write Short Stories by Kids for Kids Writing Contest presented by iWRITE!

  • Meet "i" The Guy–Your adventure Guide!
  • Learn how to create your own stories and comic books!
  • Get inspired by the Museum collection to create your own historical fiction characters.
  • Experience the Wild West.
  • Enjoy activities–Throwing a rope, riding a saddle, & more!

Open to incoming 4th-6th graders.
Price: $350 – Scholarships available!

Your contribution helps cover the cost of training staff and volunteers, materials, snacks and lunches, and follow up activities for History Campers. The cost of a scholarship for one student is $350 - but all donations of any amount are welcome and help send a student to camp this summer.
