Instructor: Jen Pearson
Wednesdays, starting January 16
Check-in 5:30 p.m.
Yoga: 6:00 p.m.
Sessions occur in our grand library and provide exclusive nighttime access to our beautiful building, after the property has been closed to the public. Join us Wednesday evenings for a 60-minute vinyasa flow. The class focuses on breath and body alignment, while carefully selecting music to soothe the soul.
About the Instructor: Jennifer has been practicing yoga for over 20 years. Initially, she pursued yoga as a means to find a quiet space while living in New York City. It quickly turned into a lifelong passion for a discipline that focuses on breath, mind-body connection, and body alignment. Throughout the years, her commitment grew while traveling for work, always seeking out different studios and teachers. It was a way to learn from yoga teachers in different parts of the world.
"There is a common thread that runs through the
practice no matter where you are."
Jennifer found her home away from home at Yogamaya studios in New York, where she completed her 200-hour certification in the Spring of 2016. Currently living in Galveston, she teaches a Vinyasa flow class based on the late BKS Iyengar's teachings.
"When people tell me that they are not flexible enough for yoga,
I assure them, flexibility does not matter. There are only
two things that matter: the breath and a desire to
move the body, the rest comes in time."
