There is a bartender fee of $150; one bartender per fifty guests.
For each additional bar, there is a set-up fee of $125.

Booking & Deposits

  • In order to secure your special day, we require a deposit of 50% of the venue fee. Dates are booked on a first-come, first-serve basis. This deposit is nonrefundable and must be paid before we can guarantee a specific date. The remaining balance must be paid in full 60 days prior to the event date.
  • We also require a damage deposit of $1000, which is due 30 days prior to the event date. Museum staff will inspect the property the day following the event. The cost to repair any damage to the property will be deducted from the damage deposit.
  • The Bryan Museum provides private security ($30/hour for every 100 guests) and bar staff ($150/event; TABC certified).
  • The Galveston Police Department requires 1 officer to be present for every event ($35/hour for every 100 guests). The Bryan Museum will make these arrangements for you.

We have a Preferred Vendors list to help you get started with the planning process. We strongly recommend using the vendors listed due to their familiarity with and experience on the property. Particularly important is the selection of a full-service caterer. We reserve the right to approve or deny the use of other vendors.

Yes. However, we understand that each wedding is unique, and we would be happy to tailor your wedding to suit your needs.

No. All bar services must be contracted through The Bryan Museum. The Bryan Museum is licensed by the State of Texas (Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission) and follows the laws set forth by the State of Texas. Absolutely no outside alcohol may be brought in, and no alcohol may leave the premises.

Definitely! Our Events staff will work with you to ensure that your bar set-up is exactly suited to your budget and event.

Yes. You are allowed to bring food and nonalcoholic beverages. With advance notice, the Museum can also provide snacks. Please note that all alcoholic beverages must be provided by The Bryan Museum.

Yes, unless there is an event the night before. Our Events staff will assist with the rehearsal. Typically, we allow one hour and encourage that only the wedding party be present.

Yes. The cocktail hour is typically the first forty-five minutes to one hour immediately following the ceremony and when all staffing begins.

Yes. Parking is available in our Guest Parking lot located behind the Museum, and there is street parking around the entire property. With advance notice, parking is also available on the property immediately to the west of the Museum. All parking is free of charge.

Once you have secured your event, we are happy to allow you to use the property for portraits. Arrangements must be made in advance.

We allow pets to participate in your wedding ceremony. For the safety of all those on the property, including your pet, we do not allow pets during the cocktail hour or reception.

The maximum capacity varies depending on which selection of venues you choose. For more information, please call Peter Ochoa, Director of Events, at (409) 220‑3021 or email him.

The City of Galveston has a noise ordinance in effect that requires that events on our property conclude by 10:30 p.m. In order to comply with this ordinance, we ask that all guests, vendors, and anyone assisting with tear-down exit the premises by 11:00 p.m.

All decorations and furniture arrangements must be approved in advance by the Events staff. Sparklers, fireworks, glitter, confetti, rice, birdseed, wheat, or similar materials are not allowed. Synthetic flower petals are not permitted. Open flames are not allowed anywhere on the property. All décor must be removed at the end of the wedding.
