Spring Comes to Bayou

Visit the Museum to experience the work of Grace Spaulding John (1870-1972), a trailblazing artist, poet, and Houstonian who perfectly captures the delicate greens and misty weather of the season.

Spring Comes to the Bayou is on display in our special exhibit “Eyes of Texas: A Century of Artistic Visions” on view through June 10th. This view looks South from below the Buffalo Bayou Bridge at Allen’s Landing toward an old Houston Water Works tank and stacks.

You can also see more of this artist's wonderful work on display at Galveston's own Rosenberg Library where they have "Never a Dull Moment: The Art of Grace Spaulding John" through July.
