Ginny Weyland is one of our newest volunteers and she has already proven to be a dedicated member of The Bryan Museum Volunteer Program! Ginny is always lending a hand and welcoming the guests with a smile. If you meet Ginny on your next visit to The Bryan Museum, be sure to say hello and thank her for her dedication!
We asked Ginny a few questions about her time at the Museum:
Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?
There was an old lady named Ginny
She once worked for every penny
But now she loves tryin'
volunteering at The Bryan
To promote Texas history a plenty!
What enticed you to become a volunteer at The Bryan Museum?
Moving to Galveston gave me that nudge I needed.
What is your favorite part of being a Bryan Museum volunteer?
I love the comradery among the staff and volunteers. Everyone enjoys themselves while preserving, educating, and promoting the history and art of Texas.
What is your favorite thing about the Museum?
I most like the first floor, in particular the Texas Frontier Gallery. It's the period in Texas history when Texas cultivated its own unique identification that survives today. The documents, artifacts and art in the Gallery tell the fascinating story Texans love.
